Our Learning This Week

This week in Yellow Class, we have enjoyed learning about the toys that our parents and grandparents played with when they were children.

In computing, we have been working on Purple Mash to design rockets.

We would like to wish anyone celebrating Lunar New Year, a happy and successful year.

New Year 2 homework has been set on Purple Mash and all the children have received new spellings to learn. Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Our Learning This Week

In English, we have been reading the non-fiction book ‘Toys and Games’ by Sally Hewitt. The children have been busy asking questions about the toys in the book and carrying out research to find the answers.
In Maths, we have been learning about money. The children have learnt to recognise coins and notes, to count money and to make the same amount using different coins.

Next Wednesday, we will be learning about the toys that our parents and grandparents played with as children. If any parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles etc have any childhood toys that they would be happy to send in on that day or earlier, this would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome back everyone!

I have set Year 2 homework on Purple Mash for this week. This should be completed by Tuesday please. I have not set new spellings but will start these again next Friday. Information about our topics for this half-term can be found on the Yellow Class Information page. P.E will continue to be on Mondays and Fridays this half- term. Year 1 will be going to Forest School on alternate Tuesdays, starting on Tuesday 17th January.

This week, we have been learning about 3D shape in maths. Below, you will find some short White Rose Maths booklets that can be completed at home.
