Homework

We had some “teething issues” with homework this week. These were due to settings in in Purple Mash and my over zealous attempt to mend those issues. In the end, the whole class had the homework reallocated today. Fortunately, I had already looked to see who had already been on Purple Mash and had a go at their homework.

If you hadn’t completed homework please have a go – it should all be in there now for everybody. If homework had been completed and handed in already, please do not redo it – I have a list of those children so there is no need to worry.

Year 5

It has been great to spend time with Year 5 this week -thank you all for joining in everything so enthusiastically and sensibly. In addition to our maths and English lessons we have been able to get out and about – working on all those important practical, problem solving and team building skills – as broadening our knowledge of space. What a lovely week!

Forest School

National Space Centre

Climbing Wall

The children supported each other brilliantly and all challenged themselves.
They should be very proud of the way they have worked as a team this week.

Year 5 National Space Centre

Year 5 have had a very enjoyable trip to Leicester today. I wonder if we have some budding engineers or astrophysicists – they were all certainly in keen to investigate everything at the centre.

We began our visit with the Rocket Tower.

After lunch, we explored more of the interactive displays. Then watched Astronaut in the Planetarium.

This was followed by further interaction with the exhibits. We rounded off the day with a demonstration of the science behind rockets.

Bridges, microbits and baking

Year 5 have worked brilliantly in teams today.
They have impressed us with their problem solving and creativeness. Their smiles (and ours) say it all!

Year 5 Wednesday 14th July

Whilst Year 6 visit Pioneer, we are going to have a day of practical skills and problem solving for Year 5. We will be baking biscuits , programming Microbits and bridge building. The children have chosen their recipes today and are enthusiastic about demonstrating their skills and eating the results…

We be grateful for a 50p contribution from each year 5 for ingredients.
