Young Voices 2020

The choir had an amazing day at the Genting Arena on Monday to form part of the Young Voices choir. There were around 6000 children participating in this event and everything came together for a wonderful performance in the evening. They had learnt a good variety of songs including: Frightfest, Ode To Joy, A Queen and Pop Medley. There were lots of actions to learn too!

Well done everyone!

Reading Day

We have had an exciting day to launch our Bookfest and Reading Miles journey. We set out to inspire all our children with a pyjama day and lots of reading activities. Each class are taking part in their own ‘Bookfest’ and we have purchased new books, thanks to the PTA, to support this project. Children were so keen to read through their lunchtimes too! What a wonderful day!

See below for the link to the PowerPoint shared at the reading workshop.

Arthog 2019

Year 6 had a fabulous week at Arthog and the weather held out until the Thursday. After a five hour journey, on which  the children were remarkably patient, they were allowed to let off steam by herding sheep together on the top field, and then having a run on the beach where they witnessed the most beautiful sunset.
Day 2: Spent canoeing down the  Afon Mawddach in the morning, and gorge walking in the afternoon- a favourite amongst a lot of the children.
Day 3: Involved scrambling and rock climbing at Barmouth slabs. Many fears were conquered and children once more showed they were ready to meet the challenge. The Nightline- a blindfold obstacle course- in the evening  proved to be hilarious!
Day 4: Despite heavy rain and strong  winds, the children completed a hill walk and reached three peaks including Birds Rock. They were rewarded with a mud slide down part of the mountain.

Poster Competition Winners!

Claverley in Bloom organised a competition for the children to design a poster to encourage people to pick up after their dog. Well done to the winners of the poster competition: Isla, Jack, Ruby-Rose and Eliza. They each received a WHSmith’s voucher which was presented by Janet Ryan.  Let’s hope they are effective!

Lights, Camel, Action!

Red and Blue classes are looking forward to performing their Christmas production: Lights, Camel, Action!
The children have been working hard to learn their lines. Here is a sneak preview.

Choir visit Sunrise!

The choir along with Mrs Benson and Mrs Mottram were welcome by Geraldine and Sunrise Assisted Living for carols around the tree. The children sang a mixture of traditional and newer carols to the residents. The were treated to a drink and cookie too!
