Home Learning

Good Afternoon Red Class,

After hearing the announcement last night about the closure of schools I am sure that lots of you will be disappointed that you won’t be in school for a while. I am disappointed not to be welcoming you back today as normal and will miss seeing you. I hope you are all keeping well and safe. I am currently working on lots of home learning tasks for you and will post these on to the website today in the homework section as usual, some of you may have already seen that I posted some Maths and English tasks for today.

Keeping checking the website for updates and I will look forward to seeing some of you tomorrow morning.

Please take care and keep safe

Mrs Harper-Jones

Welcome back!

We hope you have all had a lovely Christmas break and we are really looking forward to welcoming you back tomorrow to start the spring term. We are starting the new term during a tricky period and want to reassure you that we will be doing everything we possibly can to keep everyone safe. We will be reminding the children regularly of the importance of washing or sanitising their hands. Please could you ensure that all of your children’s clothes have their name in them so that items aren’t lost.

Our P.E days this term will be on a Monday and Wednesday and if there are any changes we will keep you updated on our class page.

We have some exciting topics planned this term, please see our curriculum plan below.

Many thanks,

Mrs Harper-Jones, Mrs Derrer and Mrs Colin-Stokes

Happy Christmas Red Class!

Christmas is almost here and what a great last week we had in school! We were busy with the virtual pantomime, Christmas card making, our lovely Christmas lunch and our energetic Christmas party with lots of dancing. What a different term it has been compared to normal but we want to say a MASSIVE thank you to our lovely Red Class who have tried so hard all term. You really are such a wonderful group of children to work with!

Thank you for all your lovely gifts, cards and kind words you have sent us. We hope you all have a wonderful, restful, safe Christmas and look forward to seeing you in the new year.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS RED!

Mrs Harper-Jones, Mrs Derrer and Mrs Colin-Stokes

Wednesday 9th December

Hi everyone,

I’m just putting up a message about what Red Class need to wear tomorrow, Wednesday 9th December. The children must come in in party clothes for the filming of our scenes for the Christmas play. If the children could also bring a pair of trainers in with them to wear for dance in the morning that would be great and any extra layers to wear at break and lunch times to keep them warm.

Thank you so much for your support and I’m sorry for any confusion caused by changes to our P.E days,

Mrs Harper-Jones

Christmas Production

Dear Red Class,

For our Christmas production this year we are performing Children of the World and we are visiting Poland and the USA! We will be filming our scenes for the play on Wednesday afternoon and I would like you all to come in in party clothes please. Could I please ask that you bring in extra layers for break and lunch times if your chosen outfit is not warm enough for the time of year, thank you. We are really looking forward to filming our scenes and sharing them on the website.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend,

Many thanks,

Mrs Harper-Jones

Red Class Homework 27.11.20

This week your child has been set some English homework on Purple Mash. If you have any problems with this or your child is not able to access the homework online, please let us know on Monday. This needs to be completed by Wednesday 2nd December.

Year 4 have ‘Campsite Jim’ (this might appear twice but that that is an error – you only need to do it once!) and ‘Day Out’. These are both revision of fronted adverbials.

Year 3 have ‘Day Out’ (revision of fronted adverbials) and  ‘Alien Time’  which is revision of conjunctions.

Fronted adverbials tell you how, when, where or how often something happens e.g.

Before breakfast, I went for a run.

All of a sudden, Helen rushed out of the room.
