Welcome to Yellow Class!

P.E will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays this half-term and children should come to school in P.E kit on these days.

Year 1 children will have Forest School on alternate Tuesday afternoons (details to follow).

Our Learning This Week

In Art, we created some beautiful cherry blossom paintings.

In Geography, we learnt about what schools are like in Japan. The children practised bowing when the teacher enters the room and carried out an earthquake drill.

In English, we have been writing haikus.

Summer Fair

Our Learning This Week

In English, we created story maps based upon ‘The Paper Bag Princess’ by Robert Munsch . We then retold the story in our own words.

In Science, we created our own bug hotel and some mini-ponds.

In Art, we decorated Japanese fans.

In R.E, we have been learning about special places. Red Class kindly shared a wonderful presentation with us about their visit to a Hindu Temple.

We have now finished setting new spellings and homework this term. Thank you so much for supporting the children with this. The children continue to have access to Purple Mash, Numbots and Times Table Rockstars so can use these sites anytime.

Please bring in any materials that you have for making bug hotels e.g. pine cones, bark, old terracotta pots, corrugated cardboard.

Our Learning This Week

In English, we have been reading ‘Tell me a dragon’ by Jackie Morris. We have created and described our own dragons. In Maths, Year 1 have been working with money and Year 2 have been learning about position and direction.

Year 1/2 Science

As part of our Science lessons, our children in Year 1 and Year 2 will be making bug hotels. We would be very grateful if anyone is able to donate any of the following materials: pine cones, hollow bamboo canes,  an old terracotta pot, a brick with holes in, an old roofing tile, corrugated cardboard.

Forest School Sessions-July

We look forward to continuing with Forest School sessions in July.

Reception and Year 1 children will continue to take part in their own Forest School sessions on alternate weeks.
