Homework 29.2.24

Well done for a great week Red Class, you have all been trying really hard with your writing in English based on the mini film ‘Tadeo Jones’ and we have been working hard on perimeter and length in Maths. I have set you your homework on EdShed this week. Year 3 are looking at measuring length in centimetres and metres and year 4 are looking at calculating perimeter on a grid. Please could all tasks be completed by next Wednesday. Have a lovely weekend!

The words are on Ed Shed ready for the children to learn them.

Thank you

Thank you all for making my time at Claverley so wonderful.

I was quite overwhelmed by my beautiful cards, gift and messages on my last day at Claverley. Children, staff, parents and governors were so kind, supportive and generous.

I know the children in Blue class will continue to flourish and I am very confident that I will hear wonderful things about them from my friends at Claverley.

Blue Class – take care of Mrs Benson, Mrs Colin Stokes, Mrs Wade and Mrs Richardson. I know they will work hard and look after you brilliantly. Aim high and achieve your best as always. Keep encouraging and supporting each other.

Mini Compost Bins

The children in Red Class had a great afternoon making mini compost bins in Science. They were looking at the structure and formation of soil. They particularly liked looking for worms to add to our mini compost bins!

This week, we are looking at words which drop the ‘y’ when a suffix is added.

Group 2: nastiness, beautiful, silliness, happily, happiness, prettiest

Group 3: happiness, happily, beautiful, merriment, nastiness, prettiest, silliness

Homework 1.2.24

Well done for another great week Red class! I have set your Maths homework on EdShed for this week. Year 3 are looking at linking multiplication and division and year 4 are looking at either dividing 2 digit by 1 digit numbers or dividing 3 digit by 1 digit numbers depending on the activity I have set for your group. Tables – 26.01.24

The children are all trying really hard with their tables and lots are clearly learning them at home. Please can you support your child as we do a tables quiz on a Friday and it does help if they have had plenty of practise.

Year 3 need to know x3 and x4

Year 4 need to know x6 and x8

These will be tested next week.

Materials needed for Science

In Science this half term we are looking at Rocks. As part of this topic, we will also be looking at soil formation. Next Tuesday, we will be making mini compost bins in small groups. We would be very grateful if anyone has any spare empty 2 litre pop bottles, shredded paper and any fruit and vegetable scraps (please no nuts or anything that has come into contact with nuts). If you can help with any of these things please could they be brought into school by next Tuesday. The fruit and vegetable scraps can be brought in on Tuesday. Thank you so much for your help!

You have all been working really hard on multiplication this week in Maths. I have set your homework on EdShed. Year 3 are looking at multiplying 2 digit by 1 digit numbers and year 4 are looking at either multiplying 2 digit numbers by 1 digit numbers or multiplying 3 digit numbers by 1 digit numbers depending on which activity I have set for you. Remember to also keep practising your times tables as they will really help you in our Maths lessons!
