We are learning more homophones this week.

List of common homophones and definition | Pronunciation | SpeakoClub

Group 1: by, buy, flower, flour

Group 2: by, buy, flower, flour, great, grate

Group 3: cereal, serial, by, buy, flower, flour, great, grate

Remember to learn them in sentences with their meanings e.g.

I went to buy some potatoes. The word is ‘buy’.

Group 3: main, mane, aloud, allowed, heard, herd, weather, whether

This week’s spellings have the sound /ze/ spelled ‘sure’. Words with endings that sound like /ze/, as in measure, are always spelled with ‘-sure’.
