Weekly update

We started the week with a wonderful performance from Shropshire Music Service’s live rock band. They played songs to join in with as well as telling the children about the instruments.

Green and Yellow had a great day finding out about Diwali.

The school council have been busy this week preparing the posters for next week and selling poppies.

Celebration assembly was very full today with lots of Super Star and BEST awards as well as individual ones too. House captains were announced. Well done to: Jackson, Freya, Darcey, Lily, Cora, Nevaeh, Matilda and Iris (pictures of these next week).

India and Darcey are representing the school at the Remebrance Service on Sunday.

Welcome back to the new half-term.

Hopefully, you have all managed to enjoy the half-term break and some of the autumn sunshine.

14 Best Autumn Poems - Classic Poems About Fall

School opens tomorrow morning (Monday 6th November) and the side gate and classroom doors open at 8:40am. Lessons start at 8:45am.

The scaffolding has finally gone and the carpark is now clear which will make collection at the end of the day so much easier. Parents dropping off at wrap around care must not use the carpark this week please.

What’s happening this week?

The poppy box will be out in the mornings. There are snap bands etc for sale.

Monday – We are looking forward to a concert from Shropshire Music Service starting at 9:00am. This was great fun last year as there were songs to sing along to! It is quite loud!

Thursday – Diwali day for Green and Yellow. Wear something colourful to school today (Green and Yellow only).

Year 6 return from Arthog

After what has been a wonderful week, the coach has just left Arthog at 1:00pm. The journey takes about 2 and a half hours without a stop. I will keep updating you as soon as we have a more accurate time of arrival back at school.

Arthog Day 4

The theme of the day was water sports. This morning we canoed down the estuary. Before setting off, we tied two canoes together to form a catamaran. It was a race down the estuary and back.

This afternoon the children built a raft to float on a local pond. They used their knotting skills to assemble the raft.

Once built, it was time to launch their newly built raft into the water.

It was all going so well until our instructor, Tom, started suggesting some tricks! Chaos ensued….
Sadly,  our stay is nearly over and we’re packing up this evening. We have had a fabulous week learning new skills and having new experiences. Well done year 6; it has been a pleasure to take you away and make new memories.
