Digital Leaders

Digital Leaders are children with a passion for technology who want to share their knowledge with others and promote the use of all things digital throughout the school. Being a Digital Leader is a fantastic opportunity to take on responsibility, learn new skills, develop and
demonstrate leadership skills.

Some Year 5 and some year 6 children from Blue class have been chosen to have this role this year.

Year 6

Lily, Iris and Jaxon

Year 5

Molly, Chloe and Eliza

Congratulations!

We are looking forward to seeing them support the other children with the safe use of technology.

Edshed (Maths Shed and Spelling Shed)

We have now started to set maths homework, timetable tasks and spellings on EDSHED for all children in Red and Blue class.

All the children in KS2 have all been given logins and passwords for Edshed. They should be stuck in to their Reading diaries. This will give them access to both Spelling Shed tasks and Maths Shed tasks.

You do NOT need to buy the maths shed and spelling shed apps. The site can be accessed through any web broweser and played on laps tops, ipads, iphones, kindle fire or any other android tablet. Of course you may choose to buy an app if you prefer.

These video links  and links to the Edshed help pages may help if children are struggling to get used to this new resource:

As well as the task we set the children are able to access other fluency games to support their recall of number facts on Maths Shed. Obviously, we would like them to complete the tasks set but they are free to practise as much as they like once these are completed! This is a good use of screen time…

Red class update!

It has been a good week in Red class. The Year 4 children have welcomed the new Year 3 and all have enjoyed re-establishing friendships!

Mrs Harper-Jones is teaching in Red class on Mon, Tues, Wed and Thurs. Mrs Derrer teaches in Red on Fridays. Mrs Colin-Stokes is the TA in class.

PE days are Wednesdays and Fridays for Red class this term. Mr Bennett from the sports partnership is teaching gymnastics on a Friday.

We encourage our children to do as much reading as possible at home. Reading diaries are collected on a Friday and merits are awarded if we can see that children have been reading daily. Please sign your child’s diary if you hear them as they can gain merits weekly for this!

Spellings are given out on a Friday and the test is the following week. This week, please encourage your child to learn as many spellings as they can.

Have a good weekend!
