Extraordinary School Closure

In response to difficult conditions:
The Headteacher and Chair of Governors will decide, in light of the particular circumstances prevailing in the local area, whether or not a closure of a school is necessary, as a result of;
• Damage to the school buildings
• Loss of utility supply
• Difficulty in accessing the site and/or buildings safely.
If under the circumstances the Headteacher and Chair of Governors concludes that a school cannot open:
Closure decisions will be immediately reported to Shropshire Council
• All major radio stations that serve Shropshire will be informed by Shropshire Council that the school(s) is closed and they will broadcast this information at regular intervals
• The school will inform parents via normal communication channels – text message and/or email and website
